Year of St Paul 2008 - 2009
Pope Benedict XVI has decreed a Year of St Paul to run from 29 June 2008
(Feast of Sts Peter and Paul) to 29 June 2009, marking the 2000th anniversary of the saint's birth.
The Pope stated, "Meetings for study will be promoted and there will be special publications on Pauline texts, to promote the immense richness of the teaching contained in them, true patrimony of humanity redeemed by Christ." BAPTISM The next course for Baptism preparation will begin Sunday September 14th 2008 and will run for three weeks, the meetings take place in the centre after Sunday Mass/Coffee Morning. Baptisms will then take place on the First Sunday of any month after completion of the course. Contact: Anne Lawrence 415859 for more information.

“Songs of Praise” - Sunday 17th August - The local churches are going to do a “Songs of Praise” in the local Residential Homes in Tang Hall and Osbaldwick, commencing at 2pm. There will be two teams. Anyone wishing to be part of the choirs please let Hilda or Pixie know.
PLAQUE TO ST. MARGARET CLITHEROW will be unveiled by Bishop Drainey on Friday 29th August at 3.3.Opm. It will be located on the Micklegate end of Ouse Bridge near the spot where Margaret was martyred. This event will be publicised in the Catholic press, local press and BBC Radio York. All welcome.
EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS Please collect rotas FOR 2008/9 from the back of church. (all named).
Study Day for Eucharistic Ministers:-There will be a study day for Ministers of the Eucharist on Saturday 13th September at Askham Bryan College from 9.45am until 3.00pm . If you would like to attend please contact Hilda Carney, (tel 42260) by Sunday 11th August.
World Youth Day 2008
Josie & Ruth are at the World Youth Day in Australia, on 2nd September they will back and will hopefully tell the parish of their experience of the great occasion 'down-under'. Please put this date in your diaries.
